EPA Approved Disinfectant to Use Against COVID-19

Covid-19 has completely changed how we live over the course of just six months. As essential businesses continue to operate, the importance of ensuring a clean and safe environment has never been more paramount.
The EPA issued a list of approved Covid-19 disinfectants, and that list has grown to over 400 approved disinfectants. These compounds have been proven to eliminate the pathogens which cause Covid-19. The list can be a bit hard to filter through, if you’re unfamiliar with the technical names for these solutions.
In the interest of not diluting this information, we’ll simply list the most commonly available Covid disinfectants approved by the EPA for use in residential, commercial, and healthcare applications.

Active ingredient: Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic acid

Delivery method: Dilutable concentrate
Contact time: 5 minutes
Active ingredient: Quaternary ammonium
For laundry only
Delivery method: Concentrate
Contact time: 5 minutes
Active ingredient: Triethylene glycol; Quaternary ammonium
Delivery method: Pressurized spray can
What if I can’t find one of these products?
These Covid disinfectants are in high demand, and may not be available in your area. If you’re looking for a disinfectant that will protect you from Covid-19, look for one that contains one or more of a list of active ingredients shown to be effective at killing the human coronavirus.
Some of the most commonly available of these ingredients are:
Hydrogen peroxide
Citric acid
Quaternary ammonium
Peracetic acid
Isopropyl Alcohol (70% or greater)
If you’re still having trouble finding an off the shelf option for disinfecting against Covid-19, you can always make your own, with common household ingredients.
